| It should be. Be wary, however. If you masterbate too much it may explode. |
Why is my hamster's butt wet but there is no blood/something? My hamster, Starbucks, felt sick yesterday night and today. He has wet butt but he don't have wet tail because when your hamster have wet tail, he has diarrhea or there's blood coming out. He is so not energetic and he is sleeping all day. Do you know what kind of hamster disease is this? |
| Your hamster almost definently has wet tail, It killed a hamster I had for almost 4 years, and a replacement hamster. You need wet tail drops, they are inexpensive, wet tail is extremely deadly to hamsters, so you need to treat them right away. Good luck, hope they survive and get better. |
My dwarf hamster has a wet butt. What could be wrong? Her butt has been wet for a few days. Its not dripping just wet. She is still eating and drinking and the feces in the cage looks normal. What could be wrong? |
Dwarf hamsters CAN NOT get wet tail!
Ignore all the posters who said she probably has this. It is an often fatal disease that only Syrians can contract.
That aside, she may have diarrhea (which is a symptom of wet tail - but should not be confused with the actual disease). Has she been eating more wet foods than usual (such as vegetables)? If so, cut down the amount you are feeding her.
Is it clear or white? Then it could be vaginal discharge. If this persists, then she may have a uterus infection but it may also be that she is in heat (she might have discharge for 3 days before she goes into heat).
1. "As estrus approaches, the vaginal discharge is thin, stringy, and translucent. The end of estrus is marked by the appearance of a copious, tenacious, opaque postovulatory discharge."
If there is any blood in it, then they may have an ovarian cyst.
2. "OVARIAN CYSTS: Cysts are fairly common in females that have never been bred. Symptoms include a swollen belly and a bloody vaginal discharge. A veterinarian can drain the cysts or ovariohysterectomy can be performed."
If you think it is pus that is leaking out then she might have Pyometra, which is very serious and painful - it must be treated by a vet fast and can be fatal.

In short, if it persists or changes colour you should seek out help from a vet or she might suffer. |
Do you wipe your butt with wet or dry toilet paper? I always reach over the faucet & wet the paper to have a clean fresh behind yet most people go dry & walk around with a stinky dry poop smell, yucky! so do you go wet or dry? |
| I WEAR DIAPERS |
How long does a hamster have with wet tail like when will it die? How long does it take for wet tail to kill a hamster?I think my hamster has wet tail his butt is wet and stuff sticks to his butt and his poo isn't like liquid it is solid but not as solid as it's supposed to be. |
My hamster died of wet tail. I have been told once they get this they are unlikely to survive anyway.
Mine took about a week and half to die (didnt know he had wet tail at the time) and his cage really smelt bad when he was poorly. (Obviously coming from the hamster itself)
I think there is little you can do. |
My hamster has a wet butt? When I checked on my hamster last night I noticed that her butt looked wet. I checked on her again this morning and her butt still looks wet. A friend of mine told me that if she had wet tail there would be a Strong odor. I don't notice any odor and she seems to be acting normal. Why is her butt wet? |
| if the wet tail is starting it doesnt need to have a strong odor, lots of the meds that petsores sell dont really work i would take her to a vet, sorry to say but this can get her very sick, in the mean time dont give her any veggies and give her some oats with her seeds this will help but not cure her. good luck |
My hamster has wet tail is there anything i can do for it to make it better? I just bought a hamster about 2 weeks ago, hes a black bear hamster about 1 month old, and I just noticed yesterday his butt is wet and hes inactive. Does anybody have any tips or answers to what i can do for him so he survives? |
| If you can, you need to get your hamster to the vet. At this point you can't get to a vet or a pet store, but you have to get to one in the morning. Wet tail is not caused by stress and will not fix itself. It must be treated. If you go to the pet store don't buy the wet tail medication. This can actually make it worse. You need oats, replace your hamster's regular food with them. Don't give your hammy any fruits or vegetables, these will make it worse. Go over to the bird section of the store and find a product called Ornacycline. It's an antibiotic made for birds that works wonders on hammies and other rodents as well. For a week you'll want to feed the oats and add an Ornacycline tablet to the water. Make sure you give new water with a new tablet every day. I've used this treatment on a countless number of hammys with wet tail, it almost always works. If your hamster doesn't seem to be getting better with this method after a few days then you should definitely go to the vet. Untreated wet tail will kill your hamster. Good luck! |
How do I know if my hamster has wet tail? Last night I was about to put him in his ball, and his butt was wet, or it looked like. It was right above his tail. Does this mean anything at all? Or is it okay? Please help!!! By the way, I have hhad him for about a day and a half, and he is acting normal. (eating, drinking, runnning on his wheel, exc.)
Thanks!:] |
If it was only wet for a short time, it's probably that he had a little 'accident' in his ball and since it was a confined space, he sat in it. If it's dried off and he's looking fine, I don't think you need to worry. However, if it's stayed damp for more than a few hours and you notice any diarrhoea or he starts looking lethargic, get him to the vet because wet tail can kill without quick treatment.
But since he's young, was in his ball at the time and the wetness was above his tail, it's likely it was just a little wee. Make sure you wash the ball out thoroughly (soap and water, no bleach or disinfectant) and don't leave him in his ball for too long at a time. Personally I don't agree with them at all, I think it's better for them to run free in a secure room, and he may have wet himself because he was frightened or had been in there too long. They love to explore and sniff around, which they can't do in a ball, so as long as the door is shut and there's nothing they can hurt themselves on (electric cables being the number one thing to get out of the way) you might want to think about letting him have a good scurry. |
Do you wet toilet paper when you clean your BUTT? I have been doing this forever to have a really clean rear end but it amazes me that lots of adults walk out of bathroom with a stinky butt smell because they do not clean their butt good. Do you wet the toilet paper or use butt wipes to clean your behind? |
| do you sniff that region on other people when they walk out? |
Why do Wet Ones antibacterial wipes burn my butt when I use them to make it cleaner than plain TP? How come they don't burn babies' butts? Could me having Hemorrhoids be the reason? |
| You are obviously allergic to them. Some brands have more astringent chemicals in them than others. Try kleenex or cottonelle wipes, they are not as irritating, in fact I think they are actually softer. I would not use Wet ones on a baby anyway, there are better wipes for babies too. Hope this helps. |
